Since 1959, we have conducted thousands of auctions across the United States and several foreign countries
What is your primary product or service?
We bring our years of experience in auctioning homes, land, condominiums, industrial properties, retail buildings and development sites to help private individuals, corporations and financial institutions sell their property. In addition, we can assist you with liquidating estates, antiques, equipment and firearms collections.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Originally from a farm and ranching family in Wellsville, Missouri, a town about 75 miles northwest of St Louis, Marty Higgenbotham got the auction "bug" when he was five years old. " I was with my dad at a farm auction near Wellsville and we were in the front row of the auction, I was making bids throughout the auction, but was outbid until a pair of boots was offered, my 10-cent bid took the boots and that transaction, which my father paid for, set me on my longline career path."
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
There are numerous ways to conduct an auction. There are timed bids, sealed bids and many others.
During our 56 years in the auction business, we have consistently determined that the most effective
bidding strategy is live auction. At a live auction, the bidding occurs at a specified time and place and
a professional auctioneer conducts the process. Higgenbotham has perfected and expanded this process by integrating modern technologies to live auction bidding. Bidding can also be available online simultaneously with the live auction. Online
bidders will be able to see and hear the auctioneer and have the ability to bid in real time. In addition,
telephone bidding is available for those who may not be able to attend the auction or bid online. We find that some buyers prefer anonymity and by offering online and telephone bidding this will create more buyers to register. Combining the live auction process with the cutting edge technology of real time online bidding and telephone bidding, a Higgenbotham auction will produce the most bidders and the most bidding of any auction process.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have our corporate office located in Lakeland, FL and a Western US Division located in Dallas, TX. We conducts auction nationally and Internationally.
